Malta

Country Overview

Flag

The flag of Malta consists of two vertical stripes—white on the left and red on the right. In the upper left corner of the white stripe is the George Cross, awarded to Malta by King George VI in 1942 for the nation’s bravery during World War II. The red and white colors are historically linked to Count Roger of Sicily, who ruled Malta in the 11th century.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms displays a shield with the Maltese flag, topped by a mural crown, symbolizing the country’s fortifications. The shield is flanked by an olive branch and a palm branch, representing peace. Beneath the shield, a ribbon carries the inscription “Repubblika ta’ Malta,” meaning “Republic of Malta.” This emblem represents Malta’s strength, peace, and unity.

Malta is definitely one of the most beautiful nations on the planet. This country has undoubtedly solidified its position in the tourism sector and sets itself apart from other Mediterranean countries with its warm weather, beautiful waters, and dynamic culture. Malta, the little Mediterranean island about 50 miles south of Sicily.

This little Mediterranean island has an enticing laid-back vibe and modest beauty, with enough activities to keep the whole family busy. You’ll leave Malta wanting more, whether you’re diving into Sliema’s Ballutta Bay for an afternoon soak in the city, exploring the historic, tiny alleyways of Valletta and Mdina, or leaping off cliffs with the locals into the country’s many natural pools. The natural pool leads to deep, clear water, making it one of Malta’s most beautiful snorkeling and diving locations.
